SolarWinds currently lacks native support for monitoring Red Hat OpenShift environments or integrating directly via OpenShift’s API. While OpenShift comes equipped with a built-in Prometheus-based monitoring stack, we've encountered this requirement across multiple customers over the past year.
OpenShift architecture includes critical components such as clusters, nodes, projects, deployments, pods, and containers—all of which require visibility in a unified dashboard.
Unfortunately, SolarWinds does not offer an out-of-the-box solution to visualize this complete hierarchy or generate alerts based on OpenShift-specific metrics. In contrast, tools like ManageEngine provide comprehensive dashboards and seamless integration, making them more suitable for modern containerized environments. A standardized OpenShift integration within SolarWinds would be highly valuable for our customers who expect full-stack observability extending into cloud-native workloads.
