Custom Property on Application / Component pages

If this is already available within SAM 5.5 then apologies, I can't seem to find it (& if someone can point me in the right direction, I'd be extremely grateful)

Basically, I'd like to be able to (within the Application monitor or Component specific page) be able to place a note on there that details what the monitor is there for. Kind of like a post it note style bit of info...

For an example, we've a monitor in place that looks at some Exchange server specifics & it would be useful to have, again on the page, a brief informational note stating what these are in place for, what to do if one (or more) shows issues etc.

On the Component level page, a note that could perhaps be used to state "this component looks at xxx & this controls yyy & is crucial for customer zzz because of xyz"

Trust this makes sense, again, if this is already possible, let me know how

In short, custom properties to be available for application monitor pages & component pages

Custom Properties for applications were added in SAM 5.5, though it sounds like what you're really looking for are "User Notes". User Notes can be added to any component monitor within an application template, customized per-assigned application, appear on the Component Settings Resource in the web interface, and can even be included in Alert messages using the ${UserNotes} macro.

Thanks aLTeReGo, this is very useful & now that I've seen you put this here I remember having seen this on some of my other monitors I have in place.

The custom properties however... would you be kind enough to outline where I can add these from to the app pages as when I look in the 'customise page' area, I can't seem to find it (most likely overlooking something obvious...?)

You can create new Custom Properties through the Custom Property Editor [Settings -> Manage Custom Properties].

Once created, you can either assign these Custom Properties to applications through the Custom Property Editor, or within the application editor.
