Multi-Tenancy

I would like to see multi-tenancy capabilities added to LEM.

Specifically I would like to see it so that a user can be locked down to see only a specific subset of nodes and the logs associated with those nodes. It seems using a group where you can specify the nodes and then assigning that group (or several groups) to a user account making it so that they can only see the nodes specified in the group(s).

I would love to hear others thoughts on this or even improvements to this idea.

I just had my VP of OPS & Engineering ask if LEM had this capability. As a service provider we are looking at ways to roll SIEM capabilities out to our customers from a shared platform (to make it more cost effective) which is where this would be of huge value.

What was the result of this? We are providing a service to multiple sites/entities and it isn't clear how to accomplish this in LEM other than a separate LEM for each site making for more work and not having a Master of masters to roll up to becomes an issue.

Thus far this is not really possible. The best you can do currently is create a User Defined Group and add all of the system names associated with a site. You can then create a saved search where part of the criteria for the search is that User Defined Group as the Source Machine.

Unfortunately based on the few number of votes here I am doubting it's likely that we will see this feature. That concerns me a bit as it may cause us to look for a different solution.
