I have a customer requesting what they call "Packet Task Rate". They define this as 1-Packets received/packets sent. The trouble is that they want to measure this from 1 interface to another. The intent is to measure how many packets are dropped while traversing my MPLS network. SolarWinds and every other network monitoring tool out there as far as I can see do not have the ability to compare the 2 interfaces to each other. SolarWinds can collect the metrics or packets sent and received on both interfaces, but does not follow through with producing a percentage of the 2 data sets. This would be a useful feature to measure how efficient your transport network is operating. The feature would also come in very useful when you are required to show a customer that you are meeting the SLA for transport as well. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Can someone tell me if there is a way to make SolarWinds do this? The closest thing I have seen is to display both interfaces in a multi-object chart.
