The current "Down" variable - ${N=Alerting;M=DownTime} - reports the time in minutes that a node was down, but the clock only starts from the time the event was triggered. If the trigger has a delay set, that amount of time is not reflected by this variable. When creating a RESET email action for user groups, and the group has requested that we have a delay before they receive an email, the RESET email only provides the time to recovery from the trigger. Providing accurate reporting to the end user groups will prevent trouble tickets being opened ad nauseum, and helps to provide a standard input for trend analysis (blah, blah, blah).
