It would be awesome if we could have the option to get a auto-update of the MIB database or at least an automatic download when a new package is available.
The whole MIB/Machine Type functionality is broken. Requests for Machine Type updates go into the black hole. Updates should be automatic, and users should be able to submit changes using a form in a system similar to adding a support case.

the way that db is working is just too old and not flex....
I Love to have my own privat db with the mibs I need to the elments I use no more no less....
IF we talk about auto update why not update only the files of my elemets ?
I wouldn't mind seeing the MIB broken into multiple files too. Current MIB is just over 1GB. Yikes -- especially since it has been stored on C:
Agreed, maybe split it up by vendor so we only pull down what we need. For example, I'm in a Cisco shop, why would I install anything else? If we decide to replace Cisco wireless with Aruba or something, then I can go get that vendor.

I couldn't have stated it better myself. '
Also, how about letting the SW admins decide the drive where the MIB files should be? After all, we already decide whether to install SW on the default (C:) drive. This whole thing about putting so many large files on the C: drive seems like asking for trouble.

Fix that please...
