Old Instances of Disk Volumes be removed

I am heavily using SAM and we alert off the Disk Volumes. There are new instances of Disks and or the disks have been renamed. However the old instances of disk volumes still remain. Is there a way solarwinds can detect, which i know it detects a disk volume has been added and removed, be removed from Solarwinds.

Not automatically, but you could certainly write a SQL query that would remove volumes that have been in an unknown state for longer than "X" number of days.

you may choose to automatically remove unknown volumes from monitoring. This is automatically performed through database maintenance after a select number of days. The default value is 7 days of unknown status. You can enable this feature in Settings > All Settings > Polling Settings > Automatically Remove Unknown Volumes.
