The UDT jobs perform a significant amount of DNS lookups, each job appears to perform DNS lookups, often for the same data that NPM looks up. In large enviroments with redundant switches and routers the same DNS data is looked up by sepaarte jobs, often running on separate pollers and there does not seeem to be any sharing of the DNS Cache data between the servers.
By moving the IP to name mapping to a separate process this would simplify the UDT L3 job polling, and the DNS lookup results could be shared by multiple pollers.
