I would like to see a native "Remote App-type" feature for various Orion apps. Currently, this can be done by setting up a remote app server, going through it, and adding each app, but I would like a native option to free up my time and resources.
I use this to provide access to the "Orion Service Manager", as well as UnDP, Report Writer, and Advanced Alert Manager, without giving access to the full server. I know these pieces of NPM are being migrated to web based features, so maybe they can just do the same with the service manager somehow... (although, if something happens to, and stops, a service, like the NetPerfMon service, then that web based feature would probably be rendered useless, whereas, a separate remote service manager would still work)
This allows my team to restart services, when/if they automagically stop, without having to call me to login and check it out. (work smarter, not harder?)
The QoE/DPI install allows direct communications between a user's PC and the server, and this remote app business can be achieved with some time and resources, so I figure it should be possible to combine both of them and provide it as a native feature within NPM.
Thank you,
