Basically, I would like to have an action in the advanced alerts that changes or appends to custom properties of a node/interface.
There is a variety of uses for this- easy access to info like last down time, counters such as triggered XXX alert YYY times, and so forth without having to dig back and look at the alerts triggered for each node.
Additionally, this allows a way to have alerts be able to communicate between each other: ie. I got this idea thinking of a way to have the Reset Action for Down Node Alert give the duration of the down time and if there was a recent reboot.
Right now, there is not a way, without some scripting/3rd party program, to add that kind of information to the alert emails. This can also help with other sources of Alert suppression and with the availablity of delayed actions, give a window for when certain alerts can be triggered or not triggered.
