Adding a UDT search widget to the Orion Dashboard

Hi There,

In reference to Case # 00032104 that I logged with your helpdesk, I would like to request a UDT search widget to be created so that I can go directly to the search window stright from my dashboard instead of navigating to the UDT section first.

I, too, wish this to be the case. But I've found it's quick to just put a Bookmark short cut on the Bookmarks bar in my browsers. Until this feature comes true for you, consider my work around:

(But this request really IS a no-brainer for SW, and it ought to be as simple as providing a check box in NPM views to include this shortcut's functionality).

I envision it should be as easy as Customizing the NPM home page, and adding another Resource called UDT Search. It should show up right here:

I would love this too.

We use search for wireless clients widget and would love the same for UDT if not combined.

Got this working ourselves on our main page. Its not perfect but it works for a quick glance view at what is connected where.

Create an SWQL custom query widget, enable search and have it return blank "no results" until the search is run. Here is the query and output:

Custom query is configured as follows:

Custom SWQL Query:

SELECT ConnectedTo as [Device], PortNumber as [Interface] , IPAddress as [IP Address], MACAddress as [MAC Address]

FROM Orion.UDT.AllEndpoints

Where ConnectionType = '1' and IPAddress =''

Search SWQL Query:

SELECT ConnectedTo as [Device], PortNumber as [Interface] , IPAddress as [IP Address], MACAddress as [MAC Address]

FROM Orion.UDT.AllEndpoints

Where ConnectionType = '1' and (MACAddress like '%${SEARCH_STRING}%')

OR ConnectionType = '1' and (IPAddress like '%${SEARCH_STRING}%')

Doing the above as a custom query I posted gives you exactly what you are after, no?

This seems to work well.

Do you have a recommendation for getting the the returned switch information to function as a hot link to the switch's NPM node page, or to display the switch's management IP address when one hovers the mouse cursor over it?

Thanks @ashleyh , but the 2nd query with the added UDTEP info fails on our install. We're on:

Orion Platform Version 2019.4
Network Performance Monitor Version 2019.4
User Device Tracker Version 2019.4

Just comes back as "There was an error processing the request."
