Allow Orion Maps to be edited by other users

There is no way to edit other users' Orion Maps without creating a copy, even as the platform administrator.

This is fine if you're a one-person shop but totally unusable when you have a team of people working in the product.

No, I cannot create a shared account.

Desperate need of this. I can't have admins managing 200+ maps when I have several hundred users that can make them. We need to be able to have a toggle button to allow users x, y, and z to edit maps.

Trying to start using Orion Maps as replacement for network atlas. Agreed this is absolutely crazy that maps can't be edited by other admins of the platform. When will this be addressed if the plan is to decommission Network Atlas?

Same here. We have multiple people creating maps and a security policy that prohibits us using shared accounts on any systems (compliance reasons).

I get asked about this all the time. This was easy in Network Atlas. Large teams need to be able to collaborate on Network Maps even is the map was created by another user.

If I'm an admin, and yet I cannot edit something a normal user created, then I am not an admin.

Are there sitll no progress in letting more than 1 user to change the maps?? Please make it happen!

Our organization cannot move off Network Atlas until this feature has been added. Internal audit will not allow us to move forward using a single login to create all maps and on-call employees need the ability to update / change maps. Admins as well.

This is the exact reason why I have trained all my new staff on Network Atlas for as long as it shall live. It's just beyond me the complete lack of "permissions" that a supposed Admin has on the new Orion Mapping system. It's such a large scale problem for us.

Is there any news about this? This is just a showstopper to making any decent use of Orion maps, and Network Atlas is slow and clunky.

I just worked with a Client that had made 50+ maps and was asked to modify them but couldn't edit them. Since they were created by another user, I had to create copies to make the modifications requested. This leads to having multiple maps for the same area of focus. Plus having to edit 50+ site Summary views to change out the maps as well. Please provide this functionality ASAP, so those that have several Engineers maintaining maps don't have this same issue.

Hi Derek, You can change the owner / account on the map to allow another user to edit rather than making copies. We did this yesterday. thwack.solarwinds.com/.../changing-ownership-of-orion-maps

I used the "workaround" since Solarwinds isn't prioritizing this huge issue for us. Workaround is to create a local orion account entirely for orion map creation. Change the ownership of all existing maps (or all your specific groups maps) to this local account. Then I have my entire global network team and operations network team leverage this account when they want to update maps. This allows all network staff to add/delete/modify the network maps like we had done in network atlas. If solarwinds ever fixes this issue we can always flip the individual maps back to individual ownership but this got us past the huge frustration of dealing with maps that no one could update other than the original creator.

I'm migrating from local logins to using the users AD accounts and this means anyone who created a map will have to remake the map. This is completely unacceptable!

Please add this feature, the fact that this feature doesn't exist seems like there isn't enough resources allocated to developing Orion Maps.

This is still an issue with the current production version of Solarwinds. We are attempting to deploy SW in our enterprise and I can confirm this is still an issue. This is a real show-stopper for our enterprise! We have several team members in our Network Engineering team and the inability for someone in the same AD security group not to be able to edit another team member's map is huge. We have NOC views which need to get updated when hardware is upgraded, removed or replaced. I am disappointed an enterprise solution has this limitation and I'm hoping this can be addressed soon!

Where is this feature? It was on Atlas maps so it needs to be on Orion maps.
How can I sell the Orion product to customers with this massive issue.

Admin user should be as the name describes, admin... or god.
