As we know, SolarWinds has finally decommissioned the Syslog Viewer, which has been replaced by the new Log Viewer (on versions 2019.4 and later). I miss some of the features present in the legacy Syslog Viewer, including:
- Export (and Import) Rules: Our firm supports multiple SolarWinds instances, so we have over 200 syslog rules when we count all our SolarWinds servers. Personally, I do not look forward to having to re-create each one of the syslog rules we have on all our SolarWinds servers. So, I would like for the developers to at least provide the ability to export and import rules. That way, we could create syslog rules in one of our SolarWinds servers and import the applicable ones into the others.
- NOTE: I would prefer for us to be able to import rules from legacy Syslog Viewer, but I doubt the developers will agree to do this. That is why I am requesting for them to at the very least, allow for export and import rules from Orion Log Viewer into others.
- More granular filtering: For example, I would like to perform searches on all syslog alerts for devices that begin with BOS, or with CHI. Or search syslog alerts with devices that begin with specific IP address (i.e. 167.219.192.xxx).
