There needs to be support for Secure (SSL) LDAP connections.
Since we're authenticating with LDAP with a username/password I was surprised to not see this small but important security feature. Would really like to see this in a minor update.
Amazing that so many update passed by without addind LDAPS.
This is a security feature and should not require billin of votes.
With the recent issue with SSLv3 on 10/15, I'd like to ammend my request to be for TLS encryption for the Secure LDAP support!
Would really like to see support added for LDAP over SSL/TLS (LDAPS), to offer transport layer encryption for simple LDAP BIND requests, so credentials are not in clear text on LAN during authentication.
Also, LDAPS required to for Serv-U to support password management with MS AD, another feature that should be added.
Have you guys tried to connect to your LDAP with port 636 on the Serv-U LDAP config? I mean, if your LDAP requires SSL on port 636 and an application connects to that port with SSL then it should not allow the connection but the current version of Serv-U can connect to LDAP/AD if you put port 636, that may mean that Serv-U already supports LDAP connection with SSL (LDAPS). Do you think?
After Setting Port to 636, Login Fails.
Ldaps is not implemented.
bummer... looks like my LDAP server might not have the strict configuration to only use LDAPS for port 636...
We also would like to see support for LDAP over SSl.We are switching from certficate less to a 3000 server certificates
For whats supposed to be a secure product the lack of ldaps is quite dissapointing
Amen to that
Could someone provide an update on this feature? How many votes does it take to get implemented?
Congratulations SolarWinds. Due to your apathy with regards to this important security feature and your lethargy in getting it implemented, we are specifically *NOT* going to use this product.
Please hurry up and add this feature, I see this request has been open since at least 2014!
