using IPMonitor to monitor different networks over the internet

Currently using the trial of v10, setup vpn's to two different networks, was able to discover devices and monitor with no problem - but only one network at a time. Having two vpn connections open at once shuts down the first connection to the ipmonitor. Is there another way or configuration to do this? I really like the product so far..

Hello cgtech,

Do the 2 remote networks share the same IP range? In otherwords, is there a system in network A that has the same IP address as a system in network B? If so, I can see this being the problem. It would be like trying to ping 192.168.1.1 when there is a system in both networks with that IP address.

To get around this, the 2 networks must have two different IP ranges or you must have a seperate ipMonitor installation for one of the remote networks.

We are planning to license ipMonitor to monitor two physically separate networks. The only connection between them is through the Internet (no VPN). Both networks are on separate public IP address blocks. Is it possible to install ipMonitor on one network and monitor devices on other network over the internet using SNMP and WMI? Is yes, how much bandwidth is utilized for this configuration.

Hi Iengineering - you can definitely do this, and the bandwidth will be determined by how many monitors you have set up. We recommend using SNMP - as it is easier to use across firewalls and will also use less bandwidth.
