Add AWS GovCloud to supported Regions within CloudWatch monitoring

We are needing to support our client which has their instance of AWS Cloud within the GovCloud– Amazon Web Services (AWS) .

According to "Case # 1360695 - Does solarwinds support monitoring of AWS instances in the government cloud" only the regions from the following sites are supported.

The below link lists the AWS cloud regions. Solarwinds supports monitoring for the regions in the following tables:

Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2)AndAmazon CloudWatch

We have submitted a feature request for this requirement and support recommended we create a feature request within Thwack as well.

We just found out today that if you have the correct versions to support Cloud you can run a query within the SQL database to enable the govcloud and it worked for us.

Please consult with support if you have questions or concerns.

To enable Gov cloud polling run following SQL script in SAM DB

enable-gov-cloud

UPDATE [dbo].[CLM_AwsRegions]

SET [Enabled]=1

WHERE [SystemName]='us-gov-west-1'

SQL script to disable Gov cloud polling

disable-gov-cloud

UPDATE [dbo].[CLM_AwsRegions]

SET [Enabled]=0

WHERE [SystemName]='us-gov-west-1'
