Adding nodes that are offline to NPM.

We would like the ability to add nodes to NPM even if they are offline. The reason we would like to do so is that we are contractually bound to monitor client devices from the instant they go live. With the current feature set we cannot do so and must add all the devices manually or by discovery (which is inherently flawed by it's nature) which can take considerable time.

Ideally we would like to add a device that is not online and set it to be unmanaged until the date and time it is due to go live at which point it would become managed without any further action on our part.

I think you could potentially do that with SDK.

When sending request to API, SolarWinds is adding node without checking for resources or status.

Assigning SNMP credentials are a bit tricky. First, you need to save SNMP in SolarWinds. Next, you need to check ID for the credential via Database Manager (Credential table). SDK Script will only accept the ID number as variable.

In the future, you can create Custom Query widget, to display the Credential table (in order not to dig into the SQL).

Hint: if you are using SNMP v2, the only way to save it is to create new discovery (no need to run in) and SolarWinds will add it in the Credential table.

You may try to do it via PowerShell or other scripting language:
