A lot of us are using A LOT OF custom properties for site-specific information. We use it to associate equipment to the site it's at. If we had a SITE tab, we could enter all the specific information for a site ONCE, and then associate that to each device.
For example, A site might have
- Site Name
- Address
- Country
- Site phone number
- Local Contact
- After-Hours Contact
- After-Hours Cellphone
- WAN Circuit Provider
- WAN Circuit ID
- WAN Provider Support phone number
That's a lot to enter (and enter again) for EVERY device. We use it so we can add the info to alert emails! That way the helpdesk people can start triage on a site being down without bugging us network admins!
