Monitor Alcatel VLAN by using Orion NPM in VLAN monitoring

Our customer need to monitor Alcatel VLAN by using Orion NPM in VLAN monitoring.

Below is comprehensive list of vendors Alcatel OID :

Yes, please! Our client's core network is 100% Alcatel, and currently we do monitoring of VLANs by monitoring the IP interfaces we've created for them. Having native VLAN monitoring support for Alcatel would be much better, since that way we can pull the whole table and not just the VLANs with logical interfaces.

Why not create a Universal device poller with the above OIDs and then you can create custom view pages for each or all.

Agree. Definitely tracking this need. In the meantime, our best method of address gaps in native SNMP polling is NPM's Universal Device Poller; and for API integrations it's SAM's API Poller.

Up please... Really need this feature, because our client's core network mostly is Alcatel. So hopefully there there will be native VLAN Monitoring for that Alcatel vendor :

1. Alcatel Lucent Nokia SR7750
2. Alcatel 7210
3. Alcatel ESS-7450-7
4. Alcatel SAR-7705-8
5. Alcatel-Lucent 7250 IXRR6

yes we really hope, solarwinds can natively monitor vlan for alcatel and other network products, this is very helpful if it can be done..

While this won't help for VLAN monitoring, I've added a node details poller to gain more info for select Nokia (Alcatel) devices. Perhaps it helps a little.

While not specific to VLAN monitoring, I've posted a Nokia (Alcatel) node details poller in the Content Exchange that may help get you some additional info for select Nokia gear - 7705 SAR, 7210 SASx, 7750 SR.

Any progress on Alcatel-Nokia Router 77XX series VLAN or Sub-Interfaces monitoring?

Our recent SW download in Dec 2021 is showing only the main port interfaces, which is not viable for monitoring all the clients.

SW support helped us to create a widget to monitor one sub-interface (as a how to exercise), using the Universal Device Poller, however, the whole exercise took about 10 minutes, and with 1 router having over 400 clients, and multiplied by more than 10 routers, adding one by one is highly inefficient.

Further more, the OID used did not produce the VLAN/Sub-Interface name, this again would require mapping each result with the appropriate name in the Routers, making the whole exercise more frustrating.

I saw your "node details poller". And it was helpful.

Would you be having an idea on how we can get a customized poller for SW - like the one you provided, but this time for monitoring the Alcatel 77XX. 72XX. 74XX router series, on the sub-interfaces/VLAN, also known as SAP in the Alcatel-Timetra OIDs?

Below are the relevant OIDs for the Router-Series that would produce an SNMP table, under which all the sub-interfaces data is available:

I'm afraid I can't really speak to this, nor do I/we make use of those models to try anything out on. Sorry.

Also, with the way it seems a number of the Nokia switches get setup with the corresponding routers and MPLS, making the correlation for VLANs doesn't seem likely unless done by SolarWinds directly as the tool for building custom pollers is too limited for complex items like this I suspect. Frankly, I'm not too impressed with how Nokia handles this in their product - would be nice to see a MIB entry that gets updated with a "VLAN number" to interface, even when it's really from a SAP handled by the router; like you find in Aruba, Cisco, and just about any other normal switch.
