When I recently installed an updated NAM RC2, LOADS of additional temporary 30-day-licensed trial downloads were available to download and include. I selected a few, unselected what I thought was ALL of the extras, and proceeded to upgrade.
That went OK, but I see I incorrectly added Log Manager to my install.
Now when I want to upgrade to a more current RC, I chose to get rid of that unpurchased trial version of Log Manager first.
The process is relatively ugly: http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/en/flarehelp/logmanager/content/lm/lm-uninstall-lm.htm?cshid=LogManagerUninstall
I followed it on the Main Poller and was successful.
Now that I'm into my RC upgrade attempt, using the sweet "My Orion Deployment UPgrade Wizard" to upgrade my Main Instance and six APE's, I find all the APE's fail due to having the Log Manager installed on them.
There's no way (that I can find) to uninstall them from the Main Instance "My Orion Deployment", and I believe there ought to be. It's a centralized place for adding or removing or upgrading, right?
Here's a vote towards making it work for upgrading / installing / uninstalling things from ALL APE's as well as from the Main Instance.
Frankly, I thought it would look those APE's over and get rid of their Log Manager since it was removed from the Main Instance. That's what I want, but can't have. Now I must manually remove Log Manager from all APE's instead of leveraging the power of compute to do it once and affect all APE's simultaneously.
