We like to have ADMX files for Dameware Agent, this is to easy changes to registry value on the clients.
ADMX files are used in both Active Directory (AD) and Microsoft Intune to manage and configure group policy settings for Windows devices.
Active Directory (AD)
In Active Directory, ADMX files are XML-based administrative templates that define the Group Policy settings available in the Group Policy Management Console (GPMC). These templates allow administrators to control various aspects of the Windows operating system and applications, such as security settings, software installation, and user interface configurations. ADMX files are stored in the Central Store within the SYSVOL folder on domain controllers, making them accessible to all administrators in the domain.
Microsoft Intune
In Microsoft Intune, ADMX files are used to create and manage device configuration profiles for Windows 10 and Windows 11 devices. Intune allows administrators to import custom and third-party ADMX templates, enabling them to apply specific policy settings to managed devices
