Currently the 'File sharing' parameter 'Require a password for guest access' has three options:
1) Optional - User/Guest can control whether to use or not to use the feature (Default setting: Not Activated)
2) Always - User/Guest cannot control even if he/she doesn't want to use the feature (Default/Permanent setting: Activated)
3) Never - User/Guest cannot control even if he/she wants to use the feature (Default/Permanent setting: Not Activated)
In using the first option (Default Setting) the flag for using a password for guest access is not activated but users can set it and then use a guest password. The other two options mean that users have to or cannot use a guest password for all file transfers.
Forcing users to use a guest password for all file transfers was desirable but is practically often not possible.
On the other hand, it was helpful for security reasons that users use a guest password whenever possible.
For this reason it was helpful to have a forth option which would set the flag for using a guest password per default but users could actively remove it when was not useful for them.
