As of 20 Jan 2022, there are 12 different pingdom providers for Terraform available in the Terraform Registry. None of them are "official" pingdom providers and that is troubling.
We currently maintain configuration of nearly 600 some monitors in Pingdom with one of these providers and there are bugs in them that we'd like to get fixed (and have done some MRs for them). The thing is all of these have been abandoned from regular development.
Therefore we are requesting Pingdom make an official provider that they own, as they are the owners of the API.
This will
- Improve the capability of Pingdom customers to maintain and keep their systems in sync via code
- Advance the reputation of Pingdom in the industry as interested in customers using Pingdom via industry common tooling
If this provider is available as open source, it also can get occasional Merge Requests to improve the provider also.
