I would love an email when a new Hotfix or updated release is available in our customer portal.
Or an option in the Orion web console settings to opt-in for these notifications.

Notification emails are sent to all customers at time of GA unless you have explicitly opted out.
As for in-product notifications, this already exists in Orion. You can view your settings under http://{OrionServer}/orion/admin/MaintenanceRenewals.aspx
Does this setting also apply to hotfixes? I ask because I have the same options marked but never get hotfix notifications.
