We have need to monitor dev, qa, and prod. This also allows us to build and test our alerting, reporting, etc without waking someone up before being in production.
I'd love to be able to have the node info available to me for component alerts, hardware alerts, all types of alerts, including node custom properties.
I was planning on creating an "environment" property or the like for prod/dev/qa, then got to thinking about creating the alerts.
