AppInsight for SQL - Exclude FILESTREAM Data files from 'Alert me when database file is running out of space"

Something I ran into when we added our Orion SQL instance to SAM:

The "AppInsight for SQL: Alert me when my database file is running low on space" alert fired on the file "SolarWindsFlowStorage_NTAFLOWMEMORYSTORAGE" in the "SolarWindsFlowStorage" database.

That file is a "FILESTREAM Data" file, and thus the file growth/free space that monitor/alert is for don't apply unless a "MaxSize" has been set on the file (which isn't the case by default or in our environment).

I was able to duplicate the out of the box alert to exclude it, but correcting the out of box alert would be best (as I'm sure more customers will encounter this as they move to NTA 4.4)

I have the same problem. What was the modified alert entry that you used to exclude this in the alert?

Update: I added the following statement to the copied/modified alert

in the section,

All child conditions must be satisfied (AND):

Appinsight for SQL: Database file - Physical Name - does not contain - SolarWindsFlowStorage_NTAFLOWMEMORYSTORAGE

This seems to have resolved this issue.

While we no longer have NTA, I see this same behavior in general, receiving an endless number of alerts for "The database file "D:\Data\SolarWinds_IN_MEM" is running low on space 0." It goes away, comes back, goes away, and on and on and on... I had to dupe the default config and exclude it as well. Oddly enough, as I didn't really understand it when it first started happening (and I guess I still don't really understand it all the much better now), support couldn't really figure it out at first either. It took a long while for them to tell me to just exclude it, which actually just sounded like they couldn't figure it out so just do this, type of thing... Either way, it would be nice to have this corrected by default.
