REQUEST - NTP Application Monitor - Case #362354

ipMonitor has a a monitor called NTP which the NTP Monitor opens a connection to a Network Time Protocol Service and tests its availability, as well as its level of responsiveness, is there a similar monitor within Orion that can do this?

If anyone has any comments/suggestions, I would greatly appreciate them.

Heres the way I did it, create a new template with a Powershell Monitor -

Replace <SERVER> with the NTP Server IP and then apply to your nodes

$CurrentTime = w32tm /stripchart /computer:<SERVER> /dataonly /period:1 /samples:1

Write-Host "Statistic:1000"

Write-Host "Message:An error occured polling this node."

thanks for sharing. That is close to what I need but I actually need to compare two different systems one is our internal Cisco NTP server and the other is an external system such as time.nist.gov. Any thoughts on how I could accomplish that? Don't want to put our server in the mix because if our time is off than an alert would trigger and the team that owns the NTP server may find nothing wrong on their end.
