One area of alerting that I feel could be improved is around the idea of alert limitation categories and the fact that a user account can only be a member of one category.
There are situations in my environment where different teams of Solarwinds users require their own separate sets of alert but they also require shared sets of alerts between them two groups. These shared alerts should not be visible to other users of Solarwinds.
At present the only way to do this would be to create the same alert twice in two different limitation groups. This burdens the system in that each alert is being processed twice and also creates an administrative burden in creating and maintaining the alerts.
Another feature which would also be of benefit would be to have the ability to create a personal alert which is limited to just it's creator.
