TL;DR - Enable custom sub-properties to form a hierarchy from a root custom property such as Server, Network Device, or Security Appliance.
I work with a large enterprise and we have a large number of different devices.
Currently, we have a Custom Property called 'Category'. This is a mandatory field with a drop down that consists of things like: Layer 2 switch, Layer 3 switch, Router, Domain Controller, Firewall, ESXi host, etc.
I would like to be able to tag things as: Virtual Server, Physical Server, Network Device, Security Appliance. Then, based on the required custom property, have a second level sub-property to further categorize the device. For instance: Category: Network Device - Sub-Category: External Router. This would provide enhanced functionality when applying Configuration Compliance Policies to different devices. This could also be utilized to tag locations more specifically if one IT section handles a major region and need that region grouped into their NOC view.
