I need to present metrics based on Orion data. The issue becomes when a router, NIC, harddrive etc is upgraded. Now my system only shows from that upgraded date to present. If I had the ability to merge data, say the ability to take all daily and hourly data from interface X (old) and merge it with interface Y (new) with Interface Y taking precedence, then all null data would be over written with the historical data from the old interface.
This would be the same for drives, CPU, memory or any form of data as long as it is the same "type".
Another idea is to have this all done during the creation of the new interface/drive/etc. by asking if this replaces an existing interface or drive, thereby only needing to edit the old drive instead of creating a new one.
