WSUS server has a server cleanup wizard to cleanup updates, computers etc but I can't see a way presently to automate these tasks using patch manager. So how about providing support for this?

You can automate most if not all tasks in Patch Manager. I actually have a reoccurring task set up for WSUS cleanup as shown in the following screenshot.
