Option to create Custom Checks (checks which are not inbuilt) in SRM

Currently, there is no option to create custom checks (checks which are not inbuilt) in SRM. It will be really nice if this feature is added in SRM with an option to use API, SMI-S or ssh (similar to templates in SolarWinds SAM)

Example: Suppose I want to monitor if dedup is enabled on Netapp volumes or not. Currently, this check is not available in SRM. It will be nice to have an option to monitor this using Netapp SDK.

This sounds like a sam template too. But I would prefer to keep this type of capability internal to SRM. SAM Templates can get weird when (ab)used to grab data that may not have a traditional node for assignment. Not sure how to bump this - templates that use only srm monitored nodes?? Self service would eliminate some of the pain and allow us to self serve via the Orion platform - nudge nudge bump bump.
