Ability to customize the Policy Violations summary

Under the Configs > Config Summary tab, I can see the Policy Violation field which provides a list of a few of the policy reports available; this is useful as I can easily see if there is any error (info/warning/critical) detected. However, I cannot find a way to choose which reports are showing in this summary list and in which order they appear.

The same issue appears under a node details, I can add the "Policy Violations" field. However I cannot find a way to customize this. There is a lot of rules and reports that are pre-configured in the NCM, I want to keep them all, keeping all the rules active and assigned, but I would like to decide which one to show in the Policy Violation summary and in which order they appear.

In addition to this excellent idea, I'd like to be able to chose which reports are displayed based on a custom property or machine type.

We have many different configs for different device types (Firewalls, VPNs, Routers, Switches etc.), regions, network DMZ's etc.

Our management is nigh unto obsession on using this resource as a very customizeable executive level reporting tool. This funtionality would be awsome. I am going to be working on alternative PCI/NIST type overview report that can be displayed, any suggestions or ideas are coveted.

Hi,

you create a custom swis request with following SELECT-Statement: SELECT pr.Name, rv.Info, rv.Warning, rv.Error FROM Cirrus.PolicyReportViolations rv, Cirrus.PolicyReports pr where rv.ReportID=pr.PolicyReportID and rv.TimeStamp > GETDATE()-1

If you do so, then you get a table with all your compliance policy violations

Otherwise you can create a custom HTML and connect via Javascript to your SWIS and build so a html table. But i will not do so because you have to write your username and password for the database connection in the javascript and that is really ugly.

I'd love to have this ability as well. This will make the visibility of the Compliance reporting much better.

Reference NCM Policy Reporting;

This Table has a Column called “CacheStatus”,

The Column “CacheStatus” currently has two values within it the Numbers ‘0’ and ‘3’.

Do any of you SolarWinds Geeks or THWACK Community Members know what the “CacheStatus” values are equal to?

I have clicked around and as yet not found anything that I would like to guess it may be equal to.
