Hi All, If someone has already raised this as a feature request in the past, please ignore the same. There should be an option to just add the nodes as 'ICMP' along with 'WMI' & 'SNMP' under Preferred Polling Method. Why waste cycles and delay the discovery when you don't want to check if end devices are compatible with WMI or SNMP ?
I understand if SNMP or WMI is not compatible a list of just ICMP Nodes are populated but Discovery will still check if end device is compatible with the Option of protocol that you select in Preferred Polling Method, rather we can optimize the discovery not to check for WMI/SNMP combability if we just want to add the nodes as ICMP. As mentioned better performance and optimized discovery, discovery of devices will be much quicker if we can remove this mandatory rule of selecting WMI/SNMP (for now its a must to select either one of it, we should have to option to exclude this mandatory rule) OR have an additional option (as ICMP) which can be selected as Preferred Polling Method. (Why should the discovery rule even check if SNMP or WMI is open on end device when I don't want it to check)
