Define groups for Alerts

It would really help in setting up and maintaining alerts if we could define groups of email addresses rather than using individual emails for each alert.

With hundreds of alerts, all with individual addresses it make maintenance really frustrating.

We could use our email system to create groups, but that make the alerting system reliant on one of the systems it is supposed to be monitoring.

This is doable using custom property, then specifying that property in the email to field.

Indeed it is possible to do it that way, but shifts the burden of maintenance into a whole bunch of custom properties.

We decided to just use mail system groups so we could manage the group in simple, single location.

which now means we can't get alerts if there are issues with the email system, but for the rest of the time it works great.
