I am looking for an DameWare DMRC standalone installation that either have all the prerequisites or don’t require some or any windows updates in order to install. In the past we installed version 10 (it is a very old version but it was fulfilling our needs) but now all the versions from 10 to 12 requires a specified KB (KB260021).
The point is we have industrial network that are totally isolated from the internet nor do we install any updates (due to the fact that it is production environment) so we don’t need any updates, this environment main function or purpose is to operate 24/7 without any downtime.
So we don’t need the latest version of DameWare, we only use it to remote control workstation within the mentioned environment nothing else so I need any version that will work or an installation packages that has all the prerequisites build in. I have also logged a support ticket for this (case #1055404) so you are welcome to view all the comments and suggestions there, but I still don't have a solution. One of the suggestions was to download the KB and install it manually, this is where I have a concern, the workstation didn’t what to install the KB that I have manually downloaded but I managed to put the specific workstation on the internet and commence the DameWare Installation. My thinking was that it will fail again specially at the KB, but it downloaded the KB and installed entire packages successful, I still don’t know why.
My final comment is why do you cater for manual activation of your license keys, but the installation requires internet access to download all the prerequisites?
