ServU MFT is lacking content analysis feature and Reports feature .
Both windows server based file screening and servu directory access rules are not effectively preventing users from transferring restricted file types through servu MFT because users can transfer restricted file types by renaming the extension.
Content analysis must be made available and applicable to all type of users , (for active directory/LDAP users /windows authentication and for servu ftp users ) and to all types of file transfers ( share file/adhoc and ftp ) .
When users attempts to upload restricted file types users must get a clear notification that type of file that they are uploading is restricted.
Type of Reports needed
Hourly / daily / monthly usage by users Or by total domain. ( Size of data transferred by user ,group and domain .)
Maximum/Average size of transaction by each user group and domain .
Separate usage reports for servu FTP users and active directory users .
Usage reports based on type of file transfers ( FTP/ share file/ SFTP /https )
Reports based on file types transferred and the attempts to transfer restricted file types.
