Similar to the Status Rollup Mode and Child Status Rollup Mode in the Web Console Settings; I would like to be able to have the status of a child and/or metric directly affect the status of a node. For example; if I am monitoring a SQL server and it's volumes I would like the status of the SQL server as a node to change to warning if a volume reaches warning.
This would enable a better reflection of services, as opposed to nodes; just because my SQL server is up, does not mean it is actually working.
To be able to do this on a per-map/group would be ideal but I understand the complexity in asking for that. The best example of someone else with the same desire I can find in Thwack so far is this:
