We are unable to create a graphical representation of our fan health in the Health chart (Health Hardware graph section) for our VMware servers even though we are monitoring the fans and they are being reported on. Please modify SAM so to allow the above to occur.
Server and Application Management (SAM) v5.5) is looking for rpm speeds while VMWare reports fan speed by percentage. There isn't an object in SAM that can be used to graph percenatge. We are not sure if VMWare is capable and/or allows changing how the fan speed is reported and, if it is changable, what if any risk could/would be added to our production servers.
We want to show graphs with data of unit 65, not just unit 19 (Fan speed in RPM not percentages). We've attached a screen shot for your reference.
We are not sure whether this option was available in ver 5.2.
We think that other organizations with VM servers would be interested in this enhancement as well.
