Current Setup:
In Solarwinds you can unmanage a group of nodes by placing them in a group. A user then has to choose the group and check all the servers or nodes they want to silence alerts or unmanage node.
Issue:
What if you have a regular schedule like the one listed below. If you want to unmanage a group of nodes every month during a weekend. A user can create a schedule to unmanage nodes but then every time a new server is added to Solarwinds you have to make sure to add it to all the schedules created. This is because the groups are static and not dynamic.
Fix:
Make it so users can choose a group that is dynamic and setup schedules rather than just having the options to choose every single node to disable alerts or unmanage during a time period.
Scenario:
A company performs Microsoft patches each month on a weekend. An Admin creates 12 schedules and chooses all the nodes to unmanage during a weekend each month. Another Admin creates a new server and adds to Solarwinds and the associated groups. Now if the person forgets to modify every schedule related to the group alerts will go off. It would be nice if users or customers of Solarwinds could have the ability to choose a group to unmanage and if the group gets updated there is no need to keep modify the schedule.
