There are some alerts related with only blocking duration (under General Conditions, SQL Server: Blocking SQL, SQL Server: Blocking SQL Duration Threshold Max), not for blocking count. If blocking count greater than 5-10 it could be critial issue and it may cause increase active session count and server resource consumption (if CPU high then SQL will start not response new connections). This alert will be better to see problem before it happens.
