Ability to specify backup SMTP server for improved reliability.
I think what the original request is asking for is simply the ability to specify more than one SMTP server for outgoing alerts so there will be an alternate path if the first SMTP server fails for some reason.

Ability for Orion to read the MX records of our domain would be nice. There would be then no need to reconfigure anything, just the DNS records...
