Often times there is a need to still collect statistics on devices/interfaces that you do not want to alert on. What we have done here, and what many others have done from what I have read on thwack entries, is create custom properties that the alerts look for before triggering.
Some people use a yes/no feature, while others use a dropdown (where must be empty), or some similar function.
The problem with this setup is that these custom properties must be changed back manually, once the maintenance or other activity is completed.
We would like a scheduling function for the change, similar to how you can schedule unmanaging.
