What units is Memory avaiable in?

We are using a custom Integer property to allow us to set the amount of memory left to generate an alert. What unit does Orion use when a number is put in there?

Example... Have a test server that has used 16.741 GB out of 16.837 GB left. When I set the value to 10, no alert is generated. I am wondering if Orion is taking 10 to be in GB since no alert is firing. Can anyone assist?

I have checked, and indeed it is in Bytes.

IMO, It is rather hard to use the exact amount of disk space left to be used as a Trigger Condition of an alert.

Unless you are dealing with a small partition that even a small percentage drop in available space will be critical, it is recommended to stick to using Volume Percentage Available or Used.

Systems guys wanted to have the ability to alert off amount of HD space left on some servers and % of HD space left on other servers. Was trying to build the alert to take the number in a field and use it as a percent when it was under 101 and use it as a number when it was over 101.

But during testing, it always failed to alert when the number was used for an amount of memory. Will play with it more later.
