We have identified a limitation in the design of the alerting engine in SolarWinds where running an action sure as script execution will only run from your Main Polling Engine server. Additional Polling Engines (APE) are able to detect and trigger alerts but responses currently only execute from the MPE server. In our environment, we have APE on isolated networks and have alerts which execute scrips as responses - these will not work due to this limitation in design. SolarWinds support have confirmed this requires development, and is a design limitation. Please add this basic functionality into the product.
