I have been using the multiple object view for problem analysis a lot recently, and its been a great tool for tracking down areas of unusual network activity. Found by default under any node in the vital stats or network view, the options for viewing node or interface statistics are not as detailed as most engineers and administrators would like. Currently, we can only drill down on this activity for the past hour, the past two hours, from the start of the day, or past 24 hours. After that it jumps to last 7 days, and then this month, last 30 days, ect. In order to create accurate root cause analysis, engineers must capture these statistics within 2 hours of the issue. What we need is the ability to specify a custom date and time. If an observed anomaly occurred over the weekend, and an admin is trying to determine the cause of the issue on Mon morning, then we need the ability to focus a multiple interface or node view for " Nov 8, 2014 from 0100am and 0400am" instead of just all activity for the past 7 days.
A custom date feature for the multiple object view would be a great addition to NPM.
