Right now these are the options:
One-level approval Configuration changes submitted by users with the NCM WebUploader role are subject to one approval. |
Two-level approval for non-privileged users Configuration changes submitted by users with the NCM WebUploader role are subject to two approvals. |
Two-level approval for all users Configuration changes submitted by all users (including admins) are subject to two approvals. |
We have varying maintenance conditions in our environment
- Routine - Not service impacting
- Standard - Two weeks in advance so relevant parties know about it. Potentially service impacting.
- Expedited - Important enough where two week window requirement must be waved. Service impacting.
- Emergency - Something is broken and changes need to be made immediately to remedy.
All of these need approval, but some do not need a second level of approval (e.g. managerial), such as routine.
It would be immensely helpful to be able to have some class or ability to define a class of maintenance types that a requester may select from when creating a maintenance event that merit secondary approval.
