Since there is no way to log user's chat sessions, we would like the option to disable chat.
Maybe create a way to save chat log instead of disabling it? I totally agree though something has to be done.
There is a manual way to save the chat log, but we are looking for a passive method of logging so that we are minimizing data entry errors. Even if we did save the logs, it would be quite difficult to organize and manage them for reporting purposes. Also, the MRC chat uses net messenger or the Windows messenger service which is already discontinued by Microsoft which means that further development of the MRC chat is unlikely to proceed.
The specialist I was working with mentioned that the 'cloud' version of Dameware did have more chat log support so we might consider switching to that in order to enable this chat logging as well as support for users outside of our network.
I would agree...it would be better to provide improved chat support than to disable it.
