A long while back, in the Feature Request I posted my challenges with using the Unique_ID field vs. the newer "Display_Name" field. I just realized that I never created a Feature Request to have my issues resolved so here it is.
Rather than repeating what I said in , please read my post there and then return here to vote.
I am sure all would agree that all sorting, variable names, etc. should be based on the "Unique_ID" field value. Since that field is not displayed in the SAM webpages, it is hidden from the general users. On the flip side, the "Display_Name" field value should be a readable value displayed to the general users on the SAM webpages, in Reports, etc. and should have nothing to do with any background processing such as sorting, variables, etc. "Display_Name" should only be used for displaying the readable name of the Component field and nothing more.
While today not everyone here uses SAM in the same way I do, I am sure that reading through these concepts you can understand my position and hopefully that will garner your positive vote to the Feature Request. Who knows, maybe someday down the line you will need this feature as well.
