For many years there was an ability to copy the SNMPWalk tool to other servers. In our situation our IT Teams have their own servers that they use for things like running test SNMPWalks to devices they are responsible for to ensure the SNMP configuration they added to those devices is working properly. Each has had a copy of the SNMPWalk tool on their Team's server and did not need to access the Orion server to perform those walks.
With the latest version of Orion (2023.2.0), the SNMPWalk tool was updated to add some newer Authentication Algorithms. However, with that new version we lost the ability to copy the SNMPWalk tool to other servers. Checking with SW Support, the only way to accomplish this is to load a trail version of Orion on those other servers.
The Feature Request here would be for SolarWinds to provide the SNMPWalk as a standalone tool as well as loading it with Orion. This will allow customers to continue to use the tool in the same way that they have in the past.
